Rapid Releasing, Audio Books, and Dragons.

On Feb. 16th, I released Rebirth, book 1 in my new sci-fi series Archives of Humanity.

On March 10th, book 2, Reaping, released.

On April 16th, book 3, Renewal, releases.

This is part of a new effort to rapidly release books in a new series, both for the benefit of my readers and myself. All series I write in the future will follow this schedule, which means two things.

  1. No more yawning gaps between releases.

  2. Series are written to or near completion before the first book releases. This is obviously a boon for y’all as readers (or to dredge up my Pittsburghese, yinz guys), but it also helps allow me to write more satisfying conclusions. If I come to book 3 and something needs to change in book 1, I have that freedom.

So release news will be dropped in chunks, rather than drip-fed throughout the year.

Let’s segue into the second part of this post.

Audiobooks. As of this writing, I have a grand total of zero audiobooks released. That is changing. Rebirth’s audiobook is already complete. Unfortunately it’s been sitting in a massive QA queue with ACX. Expected turnaround is 30 days, which sucks quite frankly. But nothing I can do to change that. Assuming that kind of turnaround is to be expected for the foreseeable future, audiobooks will be available 35-45 days after publication of the book.

ALL future books of mine will be released in audio format.

In related news, I think you all will love the narration for this series. The books are narrated by the lovely Lillie Ricciardi and she’s done a fantastic job.

Moving onto the third and final part of this post.

With the Archives of Humanity series, I obviously shifted into sci-fi territory. I intend to continue seesawing between sci-fi and fantasy, as it keeps things fresh for me.

Th-th-th-that’s all, folks!
